On Tuesday, October 22, 2024 we will be showing the opening film of our “Climate Protection” film series, Kathrin Pitterlings AUFSCHREI DER JUGEND, at the Harmonie Kino Freiburg followed by a discussion with the director and activists of Fridays for Future Freiburg. Looking forward to seeing you!

In her documentary, Kathrin Pitterling brings us very close to these young activists. Despite the existential restrictions imposed by the Corona virus pandemic, the children and young people are fighting for the future of us all.

Corona has shaken the world in 2020. The climate crisis? Excluded from public discourse! The young activists of Fridays for Future see themselves deprived of their most effective forms of protest. But they are not giving up.

They are tirelessly researching new ways to get politicians to change their minds. But there is hostility from the right, and the internal psychological pressure is immense.

Director Kathrin Pitterling gains the trust of her young protagonists and captures them in their most courageous and vulnerable moments. The result is an inspiring story about the dreams, fears, successes and setbacks of a committed generation.
